Horsing Around

Emma got to meet a horse up and close for the first time today! Emma's "auntie Myram" has a beautiful thoroughbred named Irish, and today we got to go to the barn and help brush, walk and feed him.

At first, Emma was a little unsure of the horses, and made me carry her past the first two, with her legs squeezing me tightly. When Emma first saw Irish, she was a bit in awe of his size (impressive) and didn't want to touch him. There was a smaller horse there named Cuido that another little boy was riding, and Emma decided she could handle that. So, up on the bareback horse she went! By the time Emma was done with Cuido, she was more than ready to give Irish a try, too. And she loved him! Emma also became brave enough to brush Irish, and feed him out of her hand. When it was time to go, she didn't want to leave!

SOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!! Anna loves horses but has never actually "met" one. I'm so glad Emma wasn't scared anymore and got into it!

Love it! And the one in the saddle is so classic! What a neat experience!
