11 Years, Baby!

11 years ago today I had a champagne toast out of plastic cups in the nursery of a church with all my bridesmaids and my grandmother present.

Moments later I stood behind a large, wooden door, hanging on to my dad's arm.  I took a deep breath, swallowed hard, and tried to bury the nerves that suddenly came rushing to the surface.

The door opened and we walked in and I could see the back of the room.  My cousins were standing in the back because all the seats were full.  I tried to smile, but as the pictures later showed, I just looked more like I had partial facial paralysis.

But none of that mattered, because then I turned down the aisle and saw the face of the man, who, 11 years later, is the father of my five children and the face I most love to see.

There's no way I could have envisioned what our life would look like 11 years later.  It has been such a BLESSED life.  Marriage is sometimes hard, but the rewards of it are SO worth the work.

Happy anniversary, Brian.  I love you, and I love our life.

Here is a link to last year's anniversary post, where I shared some wedding pictures.  Because I'm too lazy to actually upload them to this post.

"Moments later I stood behind a large, wooden door, hanging on to my dad's arm."

You don't suppose I got damp eyes reading THAT, do you? And I'm just as proud of you now as I was back then.

Love you guys,

Dad
