Family Day!

Brian surprised me last Friday by taking half the day off and taking us to the zoo.  It was a great surprise and the timing couldn't have been better.  I had been feeling a bit low in my quality-time "tank" as a result of Brian's trip and long work hours.

What?  Your zoo doesn't have Monster trucks?  That's weird.  Actually, on our way to the zoo we saw this monster truck and just had to pull over.  There isn't a day that goes by without Isaiah talking about his love of monster trucks.

Noah's BFF came along with us.  Aren't they having the time of their life?

Our zoo has a new African exhibit.  We loved the giraffes.

Check out my mad photog skilz.  I mean, the composition is great, the depth of field allows you to clearly see the giraffes in the background, there is no harsh lighting on Isaiah's face.  I'm for hire.

The kids decided to ditch us and go on a safari.

They caught back up with us when we waved dollar bills near the carousel.

The boys loved watching the penguins swim past.

Fun exploring in the prairie dog tunnels.

We even rode real tigers!

Thanks, Honey, for a fun day.  It was just what we needed!

The penguins are always our favorites, so entertaining (but their habitat could definitely use some sprucing up). Did you see Ellie the Llama? Also one of our faves:)

Sprucing up? You must not have noticed the mirrored disco ball hanging over the penguin habitat. True story. :)

What fun! You actually made the zoo look like a great idea. Impressive.
