Welcome to 2009!

Okay, so we're a week into the new year already. I'm just getting back into the swing of things. We had a wonderful Christmas vacation. Brian was off from work for two weeks, which was lovely. We had a quiet Christmas at home, joined by Grandma, Grandpa and Great-Grandma. Then, early the next morning we drove out for Seattle. We spent the first couple of days with Brian's family, then crossed back over the Puget Sound to be with the rest of my family. Western Washington was beautiful, as they had been DUMPED on with snow just before we got there.

We're finally back home, back to work and school, and remembering what it's like to have responsibilities. We did gain one responsibility over the break - a cat. Yes, we surprised the kids with a kitten for Christmas, and they have named her "Flicka". So far I'm not regretting that addition too much, although I do resent being the resident climbing post.

This is a busy week, as Biniam is trying out for the basketball team at school, we have a big conference at church this weekend, and I have decided that now is a good time to paint/decorate/organize the majority of our house. New year, new motivation!
