Glory Be!

I have re-claimed my bedroom! For the past 8 months (to the day, to be exact) Noah has either slept in our room (in the bassinet) or in our closet (in the pack-n-play). It was sweet, always having him close by, but boy did our room suffer for it. Oh, the mess. But no more!
Today I took out all stuff "baby" from our room - i.e. swing, pack-n-play, makeshift changing table (also known as the foot of our bed), clothes...and Noah moved out! Then I reorganized Isaiah's closet, drawers, and furniture, making room for Noah to move in!
Considering my re-org budget was exactly $0.0, I had to make the existing stuff work. And I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I do wish I could completely re-vamp the whole room, since I have a very annoying re-decorating bug right now. And it has been two years, after all, since I decorated the current space. Anyway, there are elements in there that I do still really like, so I'm happy for now.
Below is a photo tour of the newly minted "Boy's Room". (To see what the nursery looked like before, click here.) (Blasted Blogger won't let me format my paragraphs correctly.)

"play space" (artwork is an original by Emma, baskets were picked up on our first trip to Ethiopia)
I still love the silk drapes. The leopard pillow was picked up at Pottery Barn a while back on clearance. I love the way it adds to the "safari" feel of the room. Please ignore the tail-less horse (re-finished by me, de-tailed by Isaiah).
Changing table/dresser. I got rid of the stinky diaper bin and put shelves in the cabinet, which now nicely store all my diapers and wipes.
We got this lamp off ebay for $7, and the ebony animals are from Ethiopia.

The photos were taken by me at the Portland zoo, and we picked up the stuffed lion in Vegas, thinking it would be a gift for Meskerem.

Here's Noah, checking out his new surroundings.

Isaiah was thrilled to get a different bed and be called a "big boy" (toddler bed to come).

You took out the foot of your bed? How do you and Brian sleep, sideways?

Love it!! I remember when you were decorating for Isaiah, and how beautiful the room was then. It's still beautiful (in a very classy safari way), but now functions for two! Good for you!!

I love it! I remember when ou frst blogged about the room-I instantly fell in love with the bedding! I've always wanted a safari room for a boy-but not a corny one like SO many are these days! I think you seriously captured chic safari! lol
