busybusybusy

Whew! I am slowly regaining control of my house after being away for two weeks. I told myself that no matter how bad of shape my house was in when I got home, it didn't matter - Brian was still AMAZING for handling everything on his own. So I braced myself for a haz-mat zone, but it really wasn't that bad. But still.

So today I did about 72 loads of laundry, scrubbed the kids, trimmed their nails, cleaned the house, washed the sofa cushion covers, sorted through Emma's entire closet, getting it ready for Fall, made dinner, ran to the store, baked cupcakes from scratch, frosted cupcakes with my been-dying-to-use-cake-decorating set, did a couple hours of work, and hopefully paid some attention to my kids.

Tomorrow is Isaiah's birthday (hence the cupcakes)! I can't believe he's turning 2 already. It seems he is completely aware of this approaching milestone and has decided to change from a baby to a boy - overnight. We're throwing his party on Wednesday, so tonight's cupcakes were just a trial run (he's bringing them to school tomorrow). Biniam's birthday is next week, but in an effort to capitalize on warm weather we're having his party on Friday. That's right. I'm throwing two parties in 48 hours. And if it weren't for that, I would be hopping on the next plane back to Virginia because Marie is being induced on Thursday. Crap. I brought that up again. Now I'm sad all over.

Let's see - what else. Despite today being a holiday, Brian had to work. Plus he's working a couple shifts at Pottery Barn this week. Oh, and on Saturday I got the great idea that Brian should build Isaiah a train table for his birthday. So we picked up wood yesterday, and now instead of sleeping, Brian builds. See? Wasn't that a great idea!

Oh yeah, soccer season is officially upon us. Biniam's first game is on Saturday. We're busy. But we're happy!

You made cupcakes from scratch!?!? I am impressed!!! You must post a picture! Bummer you won't be there for your nephew, but I am sure your sister-in-law was so thankful she had company to help pass the time!!!

You are a truly amazing super mom! I am so sorry you aren't going to be here for the birth, it makes us sad too! I know its not the same, but I promise that Todd and my mom will take lots of pictures and video so it will almost be like you were here. Thank you so so much for all your help and advice and of course all the laughs!!! I don't know how I am ever going to repay you!
