Some of you might think we have already left for Ethiopia based on my recent silence. Truth is I've just been too busy to post any updates. We leave in less than eight days so we're madly trying to get everything finished up.
Last week my wonderful friend Tracy was here from Seattle to help me get Benjamin's room in order. Turns out we were farther behind in his room than I really thought, so it ended up taking 1/2 of Tracy's trip just to get the room cleaned out. We did get the bed set up, bedding in place, and even custom-made wall art created. I am waiting for a soccer-ball beanbag to arrive, as well as a cool map of Ethiopia. Then we will be able to put the final touches in place.
Brian and I put together a last-minute yard sale last weekend and ended up getting rid of a lot of stuff we didn't have room for. Now we are just finishing up with organizing projects, as almost every room in our house has been re-purposed one way or another.
On my list today: mop, vacuum, laundry, wipe-down doors, cabinets and base-boards. Brian doesn't think wiping down doors is essential to being prepared for Ethiopia and bringing home our son. Silly man.

Oh, my goodness, this all sounds so familiar!! I remember being at the same "nesting" place just a few months ago. How exciting! But don't wear yourself out too much, okay? [:-)
Rachel
Hmm. This nesting thing is in SHARP contrast to when you were a teen "taking care" of your own room (or NOT).
Enjoy your pregnancy and your clean house, and let Brian enjoy not having to do it...maybe he's not so silly after all, eh???
Love,
Dad
In the midst of all of your sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc, etc...don't forget to post some pictures of Benjamin's new room...oh ya...and don't forget to breathe :)I hope your family has a wonderful trip to your new son and I hope your pregnancy is going well.

Good luck getting everything done! Can't wait to see what the room looks like.
