Paperwork, bunk beds and mischief

I can't remember if I have given this update already, so here goes. Our paperwork is done! Well, mostly. But the big stuff is done. Our home study was finally faxed to our adoption agency on Monday for review, and we picked up our copies Monday evening. Our immigration paperwork was filed on Tuesday, as well as our fingerprints for the federal background check. Then yesterday we got the wonderful news that our home study had been reviewed and approved! And finally today came the phone call that yes, we can adopt Benjamin, and the agreement paperwork is on it's way! So basically we got our referral today, even though we have received all the information on Benjamin already. So the phone call was just a formality - but still fun! It's funny how the call caught me totally off-guard, when this time last year every time the phone rang I was praying that it would be our agency calling with a referral.

In other fun news, the photo album I ordered (from Snapfish.com) for Benjamin's welcome bag arrived yesterday. It looks so good, and I can't wait for Benjamin to see it! If you ever need to make a special photo book for someone, I would highly recommend the tools available on Snapfish.

AND we made our first big purchase for Benjamin the other day - a new bed! It is a really cool bunk bed with a double size bed on top, and a built-in desk below. I guess we better work on cleaning out the office and turning it into a teenage-boy's room.

Finally, lest you think I only talk about adoption these days, here is a picture of my smart Emma, getting her craft supplies off the high shelf in the pantry. I had been wondering how she'd been doing that...

Turns out she was stacking two step stools, then stepping on the package of paper towels, then stretching as far as she could!

Fabulous news Shana!
And Emma and Emilie sound like two peas in a pod! It's a shame we don't live closer!!!
