It occurred to me that getting pregnant during this adoption process might be more of a problem than just making me tired and uncomfortable for our trip to Ethiopia. There could be shots that are required, that perhaps aren't safe for a pregnant woman.
I called my OB today to see if I would be permitted to travel to Ethiopia if I was pregnant, and the answer was yes, as long as everything was going fine with the pregnancy. The shots, though, are another issue because my OB doesn't know what is required - only whether or not it would be safe. So, the best bet is for me to find out what shots I need, and see if I can get them NOW, since I know I am not pregnant. If I can't get the shots this far in advance, and if I find out the required ones aren't safe during pregnancy....here comes birth control. I never thought I would actually have to take birth control again.
Off to research...
