I just got off the phone with AAI and gave them my credit card number for the $100 application fee (we are going to use credit card for as much as we can so we can earn extra miles!). Isn't that kind of strange to think we are "charging" a baby?! Anyway, we will pay the card off as we go so we won't actually be incurring any debt. And praise God for President Bush, who instated the $10,000 adoption credit that we will be eligible for at the end of the year. We should only have to pay somewhere around $5,000 out of pocket when this is all over.
Off to the mail box to put the application in the mail...

I believe it was actually President Clinton that initiated the family medical leave act and the adoption credit for adopting families.
