Virginia Beach!

Part of our time in Virginia was spent in the awesome Ocean Beach Club resort. My dad and step-mom stayed with us, and we had two adjoining suites, both with kitchens and balconies. The first 24 hours or so were plagued with off-and-on rain showers and we were a little worried we wouldn't be able to enjoy the beach. But by noon on our second day it was sunny and warm and we were off to the beach.

Highlights of the trip were...

1. Biniam playing in the ocean for the first time. We got him a boogie board and he was catching waves in no time!

2. Emma learning to swim in the pool, all on her own!

3. Sitting on the hotel balcony, watching DOLPHINS swim along the shore!

4. Getting trapped in the most incredible rainstorm I've ever seen while out for a walk, blocks away from our hotel. Ethiopia rain has nothing on that!

Virginia Beach was a great mini vacation in the middle of our trip. Now I think I'm ready for a BIG vacation!
