The guys got out on time at 6:00 this morning and I haven’t heard from them, so I assume they made it to Bahir Dar okay. Sarah (the social worker) called me yesterday with correct contact info for Biniam’s uncle who was set to meet the guys at the airport in Bahir Dar.
The little kids and I couldn’t get back to sleep after the guys left so we spent a couple hours in the hotel room then headed down to the restaurant for breakfast buffet. Isaiah slept in the stroller for most of breakfast and Emma was very well behaved and had the wait staff wrapped around her finger. I was a little nervous about how things would go without Brian here, but things couldn’t have gone better.
To kill time we walked around the hotel, exchanged money and picked out our favorite jewelry at the hotel jewelry store. Now we are back in our room having quiet time and watching movies and getting ready for lunch. I think we will head back down to the pool side restaurant for lunch, then hit the playground afterwards. I am SO glad that we are at this hotel, if nothing more than for these two days while it is just the kids and me.

Brian called at about 9:00 PM from Getachew’s phone, Biniam’s uncle. We only talked for a brief moment, but Brian said they are having a good time, and he’s never eaten so much Ethiopian food or drank so much coffee. It appears that Getachew has a fair amount of money (by Ethiopian standards) so he is insisting on paying for everything. Brian said they had spent a lot of the day out on Lake Tana.
