Like a weed

Isaiah and I had some silly time together yesterday while Emma was napping and the Big Boys were out golfing. We spent time rolling balls, playing peek-a-boo, and just laughing at Isaiah's silly antics. At one point I turned around and found Isaiah sitting up in Emma's chair, so proud and satisfied with his accomplishment. My little baby is quickly becoming a toddler!

Currently Isaiah says about six words: baby, Emma, ball, bye-bye, Mama and Dada. I think he is getting close to saying a version of Biniam - something along the lines of "Bibi". When I get Isaiah out of his crib there is usually one of two things on his mind: "Emma" or "ball", and he can usually be found moving around the house in pursuit of one of those.

For only taking his first steps a few weeks ago Isaiah is becoming quite the skilled walker. At home he walks at least 80% of the time and is very skilled at picking things up, turning and navigating through obstacles. We have also done away with the baby gate as he is completely competent at going up and down stairs. I remember a time when I thought this kid would never understand the concept of "turning around" and "sliding on his belly" but now it's like he's always done that.

Food is our biggest challenge with Isaiah right now as he is taking after his brother in the "picky" department. And there is no consistency, as one day he may love something and the next day look at the same thing as if it's poison. And there's no gently pushing the food away or turning his head; it's dramatic throwing of the food on the floor and loud screaming. Fun.

It's been almost 9 months since Isaiah came home and I can't believe how much he's changed and grown. It is such a blessing for me to look back and see how far we've come as a family, and how much we've all bonded to one another. It is truly a pleasure to be this little guy's Mommy.
