Quick update

For those of you following our bizarro travel plans and court dates, etc., here is a quick update. Our court date is still scheduled for Wednesday this week, when we pray we will finally be Benjamin's legal parents. Our embassy date did get moved, unfortunately, to the following week (Aug 22). We are especially bummed about this because our original embassy date put us travelling with families of three of Benjamin's friends.

The good news is that our new travel dates should still allow us to continue with plans for a quick family labor-day getaway, as well as time in Seattle for my sister's wedding. Other good news is that this past weekend we (finally) got started on converting our office/guest/storage room into Benjamin's room. We still have a ton to do in there, but at least our office is officially relocated.

And finally, in belated birthday news, Saturday was Brian's birthday. We had a quiet day at home (read: moving furniture) and a nice dinner date followed by Brian's favorite banana cream pie at my mom's house. Happy birthday, Honey!
