Isaiah (or Bubba, as he is called at least half the time) is developing so quickly these days. About a week ago he started pulling himself up standing while holding on to furniture, and almost immediately started walking along the furniture. He is also pretty brave, and has been caught more than once letting go and standing on his own for a couple seconds. He is also starting to get brave around the stairs, which is creating a challenge.
Last Thursday Isaiah sprouted his first tooth! I was really praying that was what was happening, because MAN does that kid get grumpy. Thankfully he's in much better spirits now that it's through.
We have been spending a lot of time at the pool lately, and thankfully Isaiah is a water baby just like Emma was. The first couple of times his feet touched the water he screamed and didn't like it, but that was short-lived and now he can't get enough. The only problem is he crawls from the shallow part to where it gradually gets deeper, and just keeps going until his face is in the water. He hasn't quite figured out safety limits.
Isaiah is still huge, and is already outgrowing some of his size 12m clothes. His hair is long and filled in, and is perfectly soft and curly. He flaps his arms in excitement when either Brian or I walk into a room, but he truly glows whenever he sees Emma, and spends most of his time crawling around the house after her. One time I even caught him sitting patiently outside the bathroom door, waiting for Emma to finish up her "business".
Isaiah is a joy to parent, and we are so glad he is in our lives. We quietly passed the half-life milestone a few weeks ago - meaning, he has lived with us more than half his life now. It is significant to us to know that he has been with his family longer than he was in an orphanage.
