Random Updates

I am in the best mood right now. It's funny, considering how much laundry I have to do, errands to run, job stuff to delegate, packing to do, tasks to check off my ever-growing list, etc. Maybe it has something to do with the fact than in NINE DAYS I will be leaving for Ethiopia, and ELEVEN DAYS until I have my baby in my arms!

I am so busy, I can't even see straight. It is a full time job just keeping up with my email inbox right now, but I'm loving it!

We have good news: the USCIS (immigration) office called today, and said that they approved Isaiah's Visa, and emailed it to the US Embassy in Ethiopia! I won't totally rest easy on that until I have confirmation that the Embassy received it, but at least I can cross that off my list. :)

I think I am pretty much done with any shopping I need to do. There might be a few things that come up once we start packing, but hopefully not too many. And no, we still haven't started packing. My baby shower is on Monday night, and until then, I won't know how much room to leave for donations, or how much stuff I might still need to buy for Isaiah. So hopefully I can at least get my act together enough by tomorrow to lay the things out I know for sure we are bringing.

I am sad about leaving Emma behind, and being apart from her for so long. I wish we could bring her, but I just think it would be too hard on all of us. She will do fine with my mom, but I know she will miss us. I am going to wrap gifts for her so she has something fun to open every day we're gone. So I guess I do still have more shopping to do...

We have been going back and forth on the lodging issue. It's been hard deciding between staying at the guest house, or a hotel. There are definitely pros and cons for both. I think we have decided on the hotel, but need to get confirmation from our travel agent that we have it booked. It has taken since Tuesday of last week to even get this far with the travel agent and our hotel. Surprisingly, things don't move quite as fast in a developing country as they do here. Who knew?

I'm off to go find the floor of my bedroom. And I'm rocking out to the Happy Feet soundtrack.
