Update on Meskerem

I have been meaning to write that over the weekend, we finally signed Meskerem's child report, making our acceptance of her official. We are so thrilled to have passed this milestone, making us one step closer to bringing her home.

Unfortunately, this morning we were met with an email from our agency, informing us that Meskerem was hospitalized over the weekend. She was having difficutly breathing on Friday, so they hospitalized her as a precaution so she could be near oxygen and IV's if necessary. She is supposed to be released today, but we haven't confirmed that yet.

I am so incredibly torn apart by not being there, with her right now. They do have a volunteer staying with her 24 hours, so at least she is with a familiar face, which is somewhat comforting. I do have a peace about this, knowing she will recover fully. We cover her in prayer every single day, especially over her health, and I know many other people do as well.

If we were closer to the date where we can actually bring her home, I would be packing up Emma right now and moving over there to be with her. Maybe I will still consider doing that.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us, and for Meskerem. We covet your prayers more than ever.

Oh Shana I will be praying for sure. I can only imagine how frustrating it is being so far away while little Meskerem is sick! Please keep us updated! (Did they give a reason why she was having trouble breathing???)

Didn't give a reason. I know about a month ago I was hearing of quite a few babies with issues like this, but it was likely due to the dampness of the rainy season. I think things are drying up now, so not sure what caused this.
