Freaking Out!

Imagine an expectant mother, nearing the end of her pregnancy, realizing the birth of her child is imminent, who begins to "nest". Now, imagine that mother on speed. That's me.

We just got back from a weekend getaway, which was a great distraction from our lack of court news. When we got back we immediately checked email, hoping - but not expecting - to have some news about court. We found out that we still won't hear whether we passed court for a couple more days.

But, what we did find out was that our Embassy appointment has already been scheduled, and it is JANUARY 24TH! This is way sooner than I thought it could be! We were told that our Embassy appointment would be 4-6 weeks after our court date. Of course, I was praying that we would be on the shorter side of that, but this is even better than I could have hoped for!

Now, given the fact that we need to be in Ethiopia at least a day or two before the Embassy appointment, and the fact that it takes almost two days to get there, we are leaving in approximately 19 days! As soon as we have confirmed that we passed court we will make our final travel arrangements, but we are shooting for leaving right around the 20th.

So, that brings me to my current state of panic. I have a to-do list that is quickly growing, but I am so wound up right now I can't even think straight. Screw anything else that needs to get done in the next couple of weeks. My focus is on baby, baby, BABY! Okay, and a lot of other stuff too.
